Wow it's been awhile and so much has happened, my mom was in ICU for about 11 days, she is now at a "Manor" home that's helping her with physical therapy. Soon we hope she will get to go home. 3 days after my mom went into ICU her brother passed away, she was very close to him.

My oldest daughter Erica found out she has 2 lumps in her thyroid, a ultrasound & then biopsy shows no cancer, she has to have it checked every 6 months.

Things got very busy for awhile, I was lucky to be caught up on the RR block I had and got it mailed out early. House is in process of getting caught up, catching up on Layla time, being at the hospital meant a lot less time with her. She turned 10 months with 5 teeth, PJ is 4 months and doing good.

I was looking for a CQ picture and found this heart I did for one of HGTV quilting board ladies, we did careing hearts, we found out her story which gave us lots of ideas for each heart made. I took her love of the woods and nature and came up with this.

I always find mistakes in my work but sometimes I am super proud of a piece and this is one of them. There are 4 pics, first 2 are of the completed block front and back, the last 2 are of block after I did some work on it, they were taken with and without flash to try and see the colors. I haven't figured this thing out and the pics keep showing up wrong.

14 hours later!

Ok it's 14 hours later and I have been CQing for 12 of them and it's been heaven!!! I have 2 sneak peeks I can show but not the rest, we are doing a RR and we have to keep the work a secret. The peeks are close up of 2 areas, the first area that had a blue and a gold area of fabric. I had some trim that was gold with blue (and a little pink) swirling through it, I put that around 2 seams and then did a design of beads and a gold embellishment I had, it really look rather neat if I do say so myself.
The 2nd area is a butterfly hiding in a group of leaves and flower buds. The flower buds are silk ribbon french knots in 2 shades of light yellow and blue. Those buds took a long time but it was worth it. Got to head back up for more work, I am almost done with my part on this block. Rae

Back to CQ and not soon enough!!!

I have been so busy with the holidays I haven't CQ'd in way too long. Starting tonight after work I am back at it and plan to do it all weekend.

I have the CQ RR block to work on and I want to really get a look at all I have and take some pics to share of stuff given and the 2 RR's I have hanging. There is some fantastic work done by very talented ladies. So check back soon, they are beautiful to look at. I also want to get more of the links I follow on so I can share with others. Rae

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

May your 2009 be healthier & wealthier, less stressfull, filled with more love and happiness, along with peace in as many areas of your life that it is needed.

Here's to a early and long Spring, not too hot of a Summer, long and colorful fall and we will leave winter out for now.

I love the temps between 40 & 80, no higher - no lower, that's my ideal year round weather. Of course I don't live in state that has that but I can dream right?
I babysat my granddaughter last night, am I glad I can't have children! I don't know how my daughter does it. Layla was here for 18 hours and I was wore out and exhausted. Too many muscles are totally tired and I had to take a 2 hour nap when I got back from returning her to her parents.

I plan to have my oldest granddaughter over for a Friday to Sunday weekend within the next 2 months (got to check the work schedule), now Katie is 12 so I figure that won't be as much wear an tear on the body but it can exhaust the mind. Guess it depends on what we do for fun. I am truly looking forward to it, there is a pic of Katelynn (Katie) at the top.
Have a wonderful 2009 everyone! Rae
